Getting started
- Add your stores. In the app, download the Excel template, fill in your stores and upload it. Check the preview and click Publish. Or import your Shopify locations, or add stores one by one.
- Add the page. Create a Stores page and add the Store locator block to it in the theme editor.
- Make it yours. In Settings, choose the map, colors, layout and which buttons to show.
Questions
Do I need a Google Maps API key?
No. The default street map is free and needs no key or account. Google Maps is optional. If you choose it, paste your key in Settings and click Test key.
How do I add the store locator to my website?
Create a page called Stores in Online Store › Pages. Then open Online Store › Themes › Customize, switch to that page, click Add section › Apps › Store locator, and save. The setup checklist in the app has buttons for each step.
How do I add or update one store?
Click Add store, or Edit next to any store, in the app. You can change the details, photo, map pin and hours. You can also edit the Excel sheet and upload it again: rows with the same store code are updated, not duplicated.
Can each day have different opening hours?
Yes. In the store editor choose Different by day. You can also add holiday dates when the store is closed, and the page shows Closed today on those dates.
Where does the pin on the map come from?
From the latitude and longitude, or from a Google Maps link to the store. Paste the link in the sheet or the store editor and the app finds the pin location.
How do I hide a store without deleting it?
Edit the store and turn off Show on website, or set Active to No in the sheet and upload it again.
Where do I change the colors, map or buttons?
In the app's Settings tab. The page text and translations are in the Store locator block in the theme editor.
Google Maps shows an error. What do I do?
Open Settings and click Test key. The app tells you exactly what to change in Google Cloud. Until it is fixed, shoppers see the free map instead of an error.
Where can I see how many people called a store?
The Analytics tab shows page views, store clicks, calls, WhatsApp messages and direction requests for each store.
Can I import my Shopify locations?
Yes. Click Import Shopify locations in the app, review the list, then publish.
What happens if I uninstall the app?
The store locator block stops showing on your website. Your store data stays in your Shopify store until you delete it from Content › Metaobjects.
